  24.  I generally insist on keeping a "true" v.35 interface somewhere between the
  25.  two devices.  This provides a point at which I can plug in test equipment
  26.  without changing any cables.  It also makes it much easier to replace the box
  27.  at either end -- there's no need to worry about subtle differences in DB25 pin
  28.  assignments, and it puts the onus for cable compatibility on the vendor.
